Hello,
I'm new HUMBUG member, maybe not officially now , but that's just
paperwork I think. Maybe some people meet me on the Saturday meeting,
some will meet me on the next meetings, but anyway I want to say
Hello, and introduce myself a little.
I started with linux in 2000 as hobby with Mandrake as the best
distribution, first months was pretty hard and I had to reinstall
linux every time when I changed something and have no idea how to fix
that (it was like 4 times per day), then I started to work for one
company as second administrator and take care about Linux, Novell
Netware, AS/400, and windows 2000 Server. That was 12 years ago.
During that time I moved from small environment to big enterprise one
(above 4000 servers), tried many different linuxes
(Debian,Centos,RHEL, , I made RHCE and CCNA long time ago. Was also
involved in security auditing in Poland, but after CISSP started to be
very popular, I had not so much time to prepare for stupid theoretical
exams. Also when was working for IBM as senior AIX administrator I
have been doing trainings for junior/medium administrators - AIX
Basics / Linux Basics / LVM / Advanced AIX / HACMP / PowerVM / Network
security.
I came to Australia 6 months ago from Poland, as Linux Administrator,
so now searching for some community to be involved with. Also as I
don't know about your level of experience, i would propose some topics
that I can do some talks about, and maybe if somebody will be
interested and the execs from HUMBUG allow me I can do some training
or practice session.
Topics:
- Linux basics
- *NIX shell
- AIX Basics
- LVM
- AIX Advanced (VIO/PowerVM/PowerHA)
- Security/hacking basics
- Common Web attack method
- MySQL performance tunning
- MySQL replication
- Big environment designs
- High Availability environment designs
- preparation to RHCSA
- preparation to RHCE
- Jump from small environment to big one
- Virtualization basics
- Some topics from Vmware ESX and XenCenter
and i think many more :)
