For me it's F8 - I believe I tried Fn-F8 a few times but I didn't think 
it worked. I will give it another try.
(Dell Latitude).

Update - I just tried it again and a little window popped up asking if I 
wanted the laptop, projector or both - that seemed to work OK (except it 
reset the resolution - but that's not really a problem because I will 
want to change that anyway). Admittedly that was with an external 
monitor that it already recognized but it's promising anyway.
