The impression I get from QUT is they are very keen
to do this. We won't be begging for anything.

However, contacting and getting responses from all
possible venues would be a good thing to do for a
number of reasons. I am a little disappointed I
have not done that. But it takes effort, and QUT's
interest means I didn't have to make that effort.

I will have to look, if you don't get in before me.
There are probably a number of venues in the City.
The trouble is I am not that familiar with the City
any more.

Conservatory? Not sure which building you are referring to.
The Queensland Performing Arts complex does hold enough, but
is probably too far away. The Queensland Conservatorium of
Music (which is owned by Griffith) holds 720 max which is too
small.

Yeah, the Piazza is a good option. Holds 2500, and is
fairly close to QUT. Making them walk through Southbank
is good because it shows off Southbank.

Southbank is good for lots of reasons, but I suspect that
unless we are going to feed them fish and chips on the
hill having dinner there isn't one of them. There are
bugger all places that hold 700 guests in Brisbane - none
of them are in Southbank.

I did look at the Island Party Boat (yeah yeah, I know,
but it would be different), but it only holds 420. Pity.
I recall thinking when I first saw if that it was a bloody
big boat. If it isn't big enough then no boat will be.
