You should be able to set the SpeedTouch as a "bridged" mode, and then use your Smoothwall to "dialup" using PPPoE.

This mean that the Smoothwall will get a public IP rather than a private IP from the SpeedTouch (acting as a router).

Otherwise, see if you can other get the SpeedTouch to port forward the VPN port to the Smoothwall :)
