I use a non standard wireless card on my Linux (Mandrake) box which uses the
Texas Instruments ACX100 chipset giving a throughput of 22Mb. It took me a
very long while trying to get this to work but then I found a driver loader
at www.linuxant.com which solved all of my problems.

This clipping is taken directly from their web site -

DriverLoader works with almost all CardBus (32-bit PCMCIA/PC Card) and PCI
Wireless LAN devices (see Known issues section for limitations).

Chipsets from the following manufacturers are supported:

	Atheros
	Broadcom (AirForce)
	Cisco (Aironet)
	INPROCOMM
	Intel (PRO/Wireless 2100, 2100A, 2200BG - Centrino)
	Intersil (Prism GT/Duette/Indigo)
	Realtek (RTL8180L)
T	exas Instruments (ACX100, ACX111/TNETW1130)
These chipsets are used in many Notebook or Desktop adapter products by
Acer, Actiontec, Asus, Belkin, Buffalo/MELCO, Cisco, D-Link, Dell,
eMachines, Fujitsu, Gateway, HP/Compaq, IBM, Linksys, Microsoft, Motorola,
NETGEAR, SMC, SONY, Toshiba, U.S. Robotics, Z-Com, and many others..

This is a commercial driver loader which is supposed to work on just about
every wireless card even Centrino. It certainly did for mine. Its price is
USD19.95 which I consider to be pretty cheap for the doddle of a result it
gives. What it does is take the Windows drivers and pokes them into Linux
to drive the card like it expects to be driven. It is like a task specific
mini wine I suppose. I can vouch for it working under kernel 2.4.X and
2.6.X. There is a 30 day trial period so download it and see if it does for
you.

Regards,

Rick
