<Whats cups logs have to say ?
<What driver did you use in cups? I usually use a raw queue and let the
<windows drivers do the work.

Hi,

Robert thanks for the suggestions I have got a little closer to getting it
to work but am not quite there yet. Below is what I found out by following
your suggestions.

In the /var/log/username.log file it said the following so I chmod the
samba folder to be 777 which is probably a bad thing what would be a better
permission that would allow the /var/spool/samba folder to be useable by
samba. The folder is owned by root.

printing/printing.c:print_job_start(952)
  print_job_start: insufficient permissions to open spool file
var/spool/samba/

I then tried to do another test print in windows and I got the following in
the /var/log/username.log file.

printing/print_cups.c:cups_job_submit(655)
  Unable to print file to nsamsung -
client-error-document-format-not-supported

I have made the following adjustments to the printers section of the
/etc/samba/smb.conf file and restarted samba. I also tried deleting and
recreating the windows printer and using raw as suggested.

[printers]
   comment = All Printers
   path = /var/spool/samba
   browseable = yes
   public = yes
   guest ok = yes
   writable = no
   printable = yes

<Also you could try turning up the samba log level, a value of 3 should
<yield something useful.

I am not sure how to turn up the log level of samba to level 3.

Thanks again for the suggestions and if anyone could offer any suggestions
on this final little road block then It would be greatly apreciated as it
is the last thing required before I can put this new Debian system into use
on the network.

Kind Regards,
Anthony Irwin
