Ok, I don't know alot about Samba and it's printing but I have got it to
work and have not touched my smb.conf in ages.

When I do 'ls -l' in the /var/spool dir I get:
drwxrwxrwt    2 root     root         4.0K Sep 17 10:16 samba/

I have no idea what the 't' means on the end but when I look at the dir
in 'mc' I see that it has permissions of 41777

Here are my smb.conf entires:

[global]

    ...
    printcap name = cups
    printer admin = @users
    ...

[printers]
    comment = All Printers
    path = /var/spool/samba
    browseable = no
    guest ok = no
    writable = no
    printable = yes
    create mode = 0700
    print command = lpr-cups -P %p -o raw %s -r   # using client side
printer drivers.
    lpq command = lpq -P %p
    lprm command = cancel %p-%j

The complete smb.conf is available here ->

Hope this helps.
