Doh! Both this and Ben's suggestion of man *should* have been the first thing
I looked for. I guess I'm showing my frustration with documentation lately.
(ie. most things I need *are* documented, but not anywhere that I can find it.
Hence I've stopped looking in the obvious places because I'm used to it not
being there).
However, my main reason for replying here was to comment on the Debian
configuration. The file is indeed /etc/vim/vimrc, but vim is compiled to look
in /usr/share/vim/vimrc. On Debian this is a symlink to /etc/vim/vimrc.
