Gentoo (IANAGZ*) does this by default. To get vim, you "emerge vim", to
get gvim you "emerge gvim". To get both, "emerge vim gvim". Both packages
depend on vim-common, which is the libraries common to both. It's a really
nice way to go about things. I get gvim when I want it, but when I'm
running over SSH I get vim. Yay :)
