Speaking of this, just yesterday I used my linux knowledge to get the
Network Admin guys out of a bit of a bind in making images of our laptop
SOE. Seems the kernel was binding the network interface to the WaveLan/IEEE
interface instead of the built-in eepro100 interface. Two simple commands
later, they were away with imaging both up to the server and back down from it.
modprobe -a eepro100
pump -i eth1
They were thrilled!!! I've never had somebody so grateful for my linux
knowledge :-) I knew it would come in useful eventually in my work environment.
I just had to brag about it (and pass it on in case somebody else runs into
the same problem. We have Acer Travelmate laptops.)
