I have used a number of systems on kvm switches (including 2 setups of
my own) and have seen this problem in a couple of them. In every case I
could get the mouse back by switching to a prompt and restarting the
mouse (gpm from memory), or for the OS X system, re-inserting the usb
mouse plug. I guess you could then write a script for that, but I don't
know how yo would detect the mouse has gone haywire. A lot of the setups
I used, the parts were very similar, so I couldn't tell if it was the OS
(redhat 7.3 at the time, and OS X in one case) or the mouse. I use
redhat 8/9 now and don't see the problem, but I doubt its the OS.
cheers
