This is dependent on a few things: which MTA is in use; what
options are set in the MTA (if it's one that does this kind of
batching); and -- most important -- how many subscribers to the
lists actually share domains.

I suspect that, in practice, the number of potential batched
messages will turn out to be fairly insignificant and that much
greater bndwdth savings could be achieved by stamping out stuff
like excessive quoting.
