That's odd. Some time ago I can remember downloading Solaris 8 for
Intel, took me a few days over 56Kbps PSTN Dialup, but I got it here.
I just can't recall where I downloaded it from, I think I got it through
AARNet but I can't be sure. It's not there now, so I guess Sun changed
their mind about who can download Solaris.

If you wish, I can burn a copy and send it in. It's 3 CD's Two install
discs (there's disc 1, I don't know what this is for, and disc 2, boot
and install disc 2 - real odd) and a Software CD with Java and other
goodies.

My first impression is that it reminded me of SCO OpenServer 5.0.4 which
we also have here. My biggest complaint is that I couldn't work out the
/dev entries, too confusing for me.

I just tried installing FreeBSD on a box here, couldn't get it running.
~ It failed to create the partitions, so I'll load it with Syllable and
Win98SE (/me shudders too but Syllable doesn't have Intel EEPro100 PCI
support yet). So right now, I've tried several times, unsuccessfully to
install FreeBSD. I'll get it one of these days.
