Until recently, I have used Lotus Notes as an email client at work for a
number of years. When we first swapped to it I was very annoyed at the
difficultly of replying to emails with the usual "> " quoting. I searched
the internet and after much grief found some LotusScript that can be make a
"quoted-reply" button. However, I was unable to convince our support guys to
implement/install it! I dug out the old email. Here is the URL:

The other option is to use copy/paste into your favorite editor and
:s/^/> /. I used this technique until some of the windows developer's came
up with a small windows program that did essentially that job. This small
program was not perfect (it startup a gui window which is not necessary). It
ought to just take the cliboard text prepend the "> " and replace the
cliboard text. Then it would be just a matter of select all - copy - run
quote program - and paste.
