Yup, [insert broken mail client here] sucks [insert description of suckage
here], and most responsible people who are stuck in the position of using
[insert broken mail client here] do make the effort on their end to follow
basic netiquette when posting. The validity of the content is of course
up to the poster, irrespective of their mail client.

( Note that the Humbug list charters merely request, not mandate, basic
  netiquette of subscribers. )

Going back to the original thread, if you are wanting to take Jason's
suggestion seriously and provide assistance, the well-used quote re the
IETF[1] might be considered worthy of following;

: "We don't believe in kings, presidents, or voting.
: We believe in rough consensus and running code."
:     -- Dave Clark

If you find a workable solution, toss running code (and spare, circular
tuits, always useful) over to the Humbug Sysadmin team
(sysadmin at humbug.org.au) and they may or may not use it based on how it
fits in with the rest of the Humbug architecture.

Bruce.

[1] If you've got political views about the IETF, take it there, not
    Humbug ;)
