Thanks, this box to be used for video to cd and later to dvd when the price 
of the dvd burner and dvd-r comes down from the stratosphere. Also he is 
delaying dvd burning until standards are stable.

I think performance precludes any form of virual machine. 

One of the hopes in going to Linux is to get better speed compared to 
WondersXP. Also I think that having used a Linux box once, anything MS
offer will not really offer suuficient satisfaction.

There is one issue though and that is printing! I hope that these latest 
Linux offerings will be rather more printer friendly than in the past.
