G'day All,
while experimenting a little while back, I blew the old grey Motorola
cable modem The one supplied by Telstra a few years back.
The next day they replaced it with the white surfboard model.

Now - just before the bloke left he mentioned that he had a working
version exactly the same model as the one I broke.
He gave it to me on condition that I alter some chip inside. The one
that identifies itself to Bigpond, on connection.

Has any of you heard of this being done before?
Any know how it is done?
Any hints?
I would really hate to get the bloke fighting for air, after his
generosity.
In fact I would rather not use it until I find out what he was on about.
Cheers
Tony
