Hrm, aren't ISP discussions offtopic? :)

I moved my ADSL from Telstra to pacific.net late last year, and have been
quite happy with them. They have occassional outages but they seem to
be attended to very promptly. They offered a static IP as standard when
Telstra still hadn't managed to work out how to do that, and a backup
modem link too which I haven't used. I contacted their tech support once
to get the reverse lookup changed to azure, and haven't had occassion
to do so again, so I can't really comment there. The sales guy I talked
to originally seemed to have a good grasp on all the technology, which
I took as a good sign. Bandwidth seems to be fairly good, and they host
a Debian mirror.

Cheers,
aj
