All good, I use exim as the MTA, but the choice of MTA is almost as likely
to cause a Jihad as the choice of text editors....

I have set up courier imap here and it works rather well for my purposes. I
basically do exactly what you are wanting. fetchmail to get all my mail
here, exim to deliver it locally, procmail to sort/filter into my Maildir
mail folders then courier imap to provide imap access to it all

You can use your real addresses. As long as sendmail believes that
addresses in that domain are to be delivered locally then that is what it
will do with them. Everything else should be delivered normally.
