[H-GEN] lilo down, I'm bummed

Just tried to do an upgrade of my Mandrake 8.1 system to 8.2. Couldn't get
it to see the network card so I did another upgrade with different
settings for the card. Now when I boot the system I get 01 01 01 01 
forever, no lilo. Tried to use the disk for rescue and it seems to show
that the
partitions are in place but I can't figure out how to boot in either win or
linux. The system is a dual boot with Win ME and mandrake. 

I backed up a few things but not nearly as much as I would have liked to,
especially on the win side.

I think I might puke.

Any help would be really great as I am in bad shape.
