Dear Group,
                    Thanks to all for their printing suggestions.
The TeTeX package for Openbsd has many conversion filters with it but it
is the final input filter for the printer that is a worry. My Canon
won't behave itself even using tr
to fiddle with CR and LF.
                   I had ambitions of using a2ps for a final filter but
it looks a bit dear to me, I see a shell script for HP printers on the
Freebsd site so I might try to pick up one of those. I am trying to keep
things as simple as possible to keep out of trouble.
