The following is from a friend of mine currently in England who is trying
to configure cmu-snmpd under Linux to collect transfer statistics of an
intermittent ISDN link (via mrtg). As the equivilant package combination
works happily under FreeBSD, I'm at a slight loss as to what is happening.

Has anyone used (cmu)snmpd under linux and collected stats off it?

Subject: More help ;-)

Have a wee question....continuing the cmu-snmpd thread...

I got mrtg to pull data from the linux box. Did an snmp-walk over the box.
The problem is that snmpd isn't supplying IfOutOctets for either the eth0 or
the ippp0 interfaces. IfInOctets is fine. The odd thing is that the
IfOutErrors for both the interfaces is an unusually large number.

Any ideas? snmpd bug? config issue?

Thanks.

Jonathan

PS I did plough the newsgroups before I asked this one ;-) I really can't
find an answer.
