While I'm not anywhere near familar enough with Oracle to give a decent
comparison, we use both Oracle and Postgresql in house because for most
things, they're interchangable at the SQL level.

Oracle support is mind blowing. I once had an Oracle engineer call me back
right away after my mobile battery fell off. He was in the UK. And he babied
me through some obscure Oracle runtime problem, and was incredibly friendly
about the whole thing. And the documentation sets are pretty darn fine as
well.

The only major disadvantage of Oracle is you do need ram, and lots of it.
512MB is the minimum I'd dare place it on.
