[H-GEN] Java Programming

As part of my B Inf Tech next semester I have to tackle Java. It strikes
me as a good idea to familiarise myself with the language first. I also
have a small programming project I want to start on and I may as well do
it in Java.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a suitable book? Something
above the level of "Java for Dummies" but below "Advanced concepts for
the experienced Java developer" would be great.
