[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and
Unix-related topics. ]
I now have a nice new 13 Gig Seagate HDD. This is Good.
However, they're taking away my current Seagate 4.3 for another box.
Inconvenient, but not fatal - everything is happily backed up.
Linux, however, is detecting the drive geometry incorrectly, so I can't
install onto it. This is Bad.
I was under the impression that Linux threw away the BIOS Int 13 stuff and
did the geometry detection itself, but it seems that that isn't the case.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
I'm actually booting off a 1 gig SCSI at the moment, so I can get by. I'm
planning to have the boot and root partitions on the SCSI drive, and /home
and whatnot on the 13 Gig one.
