(Note reply-to: being general at humbug.org.au vs Paul Gearon <pag at tams.com.au>)

Hi all,
I'm finding myself being kicked off my ISP fairly regularly. They claim
that they've only kicked me off three times in the last week, so I thought
it might be a modem incompatibility or something (I didn't have this problem
with my last ISP).

For my last termination ppp.log says:

Mar 16 09:42:16 kraken pppd[431]: sent [LCP EchoReq id=0x67 magic=0x621eb94]
Mar 16 09:42:16 kraken pppd[431]: rcvd [LCP EchoRep id=0x67
magic=0x72852fe6]
Mar 16 09:42:46 kraken pppd[431]: sent [LCP EchoReq id=0x68 magic=0x621eb94]
Mar 16 09:42:46 kraken pppd[431]: rcvd [LCP EchoRep id=0x68
magic=0x72852fe6]
Mar 16 09:43:11 kraken pppd[431]: rcvd [LCP TermReq id=0x5]
Mar 16 09:43:11 kraken pppd[431]: LCP terminated by peer
Mar 16 09:43:11 kraken pppd[431]: sent [LCP TermAck id=0x5]
Mar 16 09:43:14 kraken pppd[431]: Connection terminated.

And then it starts trying to connect again.

Unless I'm misreading this, the other end is terminating the connection. Is
this correct?  Any ideas why?

Regards,
Paul
