We're using CVS here for a number of largish projects.  In general,
when you get used to CVS, it works quite well.  The biggest
hassle I've had with it is permissions - if the developers for a 
project are not within the same group, it can be a nightmare.  
Disciplined use of 'newgrp' before playing with the CVS is a 
good idea.
