[H-GEN] bash wierdness

The rules for when various dotfiles are read changed between bash-1.x
and bash-2.0 IIRC, and I think rh6 has upgraded to bash-2.  So read the
manpage to make sure your .profile is being read at the appropriate time
-- I think this setting probably belongs in .bashrc instead, since you
presumably want to set it on every bash shell, not just your login
shell.
