Hi,

I like to use vi style command line editing with bash (ie set -o vi).
This works fine if I turn it on via the command line. However, if I put
"set -o vi" in my .profile (I've removed all the usual startup scripts
from the home dir ie .cshrc .bashrc .bash_profile etc), it doesn't work
and I can not do a set -o vi to make it work at this point either.

This happens on RH6.0, but doing the same things on RH5.2 seems to work.

Any ideas; does anyone else have this?

Thanks
