I think thats what I have ..... the local gateway has ppp0 & eth0 both
with same IP address, and the other LAN boxes have other "real"
addresses but with different subnet to the external gateway

I've got both the NET-3 HOWTO and a hard copy of NAG open but the more I
read the more confused I get. I think everything should be OK except for
routing table stuff on the gateway box .... O'Reilly seems to go on a
lot about routing tables in the LAN systems but that doesn't sound quite
right to me.
Its certainly nothing like what I would do in NT
