Yes, I have done this.

This *did* fix my headers in Mutt -- as far is Mutt is concerned, my
messages are being sent. The problem is that they are not reaching their
destination.

I can only assume that it is a Sendmail problem. Here is what happens when
I try to send a message to my student account (please humour me):

Any ideas? I'm afraid none of my Linux books are very expansive when it
comes to setting up electronic mail. I apologise if this all seems
rather ignorant and obtuse, but I am rather new to this aspect of Linux (I
have just made the transition from 75% Linux and 25% Windows to 100%
Linux, except for occasionally running Smalltalk).

I think so too -- I'm going to come to your next meeting (or at least the
next one after the election, when I am working) to take a look at how you
guys are set up.

Anyway, the situation is not urgent -- I can always use my shell account
or even pine (I *think*) to send my mail in the meantime. Thanks to
everyone who replied to my original question, and sorry for bothering you
with all this newbie stuff.

mls
