I stumbled across two very annoying problems on login via ssh:

 * It responds on port 22, but doesn't allow key logins; it did
   allow a key login on port 24, as we were told to expect.

 * It thinks its name is conference.osdc.com.au, which I'd call
   a complete non-starter.
