Hi Josh and Council,
I’ve followed up with our main venue preference about their availability for site inspections around the commonwealth games. Quoting them:
> Based on the Commonwealth Games the centre is closed to any site inspections from Friday 16th March to Thursday 26th April 2018. If there is the chance to meet prior to Friday 16th March this would be fantastic.
Based on this, and the times listed in the doodle poll, I think our only options would be March 10/11 and April 28/29. To me the end of April seems very late, so I’d be in favour of doing it on the weekend of March 10/11.
Is this weekend suitable, or would you prefer the later date?
Thanks,
Joel

As you'd be aware from your involvement in LCA2018, the site tour is an important part of the bid process, allowing council to not only get an idea of the physical locations for the conference, but also as a small scale 'practice' run for the team to coordinate with the various site managers, transportation providers etc. We encourage teams to work with relevant supporting organisations (Eg the below mentioned Gold Coast Business events, tourism boards etc) if possible to see in what ways they can potentially assist with this type of visit.

Typically we run these site tours over a Saturday and Sunday as we've found that getting through everything in a single day is usually not possible. I've setup a Doodle poll for this, aiming for one of the weekends in March or April: https://doodle.com/poll/53a5rmdzid4w4nrx
