[H-GEN] In Memory of Gary Curtis

Hi All,
I’m sorry this happened too. I just got off the phone to Cheryl. She was there with Laura. They had the grace to accept my apology. Laura was even feeling a bit sorry about her reply. I don’t think she needed to. I said I often get into trouble with my terse emails. Then I explained what I really meant:

Gary cared about those number plates. Gary cared about humbug. Gary was a highly organised person. I was wondering if me might have put all those things together and acted on them. My question was not in jest, but reading it again I can see how it might have been taken that way.

Of course Cheryl knew Gary cared about the plates and will act accordingly. Most likely his son will end up with them.

We also talked a bit about Gary, bushwalking, heart health checks and humbug and how he will be missed.

Once again sorry for upsetting people. It was not my intent.

Greg

Hi all,

Gary's daughter Laura here. I'm sorry that I have to reply from his email.

You might like to keep in mind that my mum has Dad's phone on her at all times at the moment, receiving calls from those who have not yet heard of his passing, contractors calling about their home renovations, etc.

Though I understand the comment about the Linux plates was made in jest - and I may or may not have made a similar joke myself in the past week! - Cheryl became quite upset upon reading it. If you cannot remove Dad's email from the mailing list as she has asked, please keep in mind that we will see your posts until we think it's time to switch off Dad's phone.

Thanks for your understanding. Oh and in answer to your question, Gary left all his possessions, physical and digital, to his dear wife Cheryl.

Yours warmly,
Laura.
I'm really sorry that this happened. I have now removed Gary's email address from all the Humbug lists that he was subscribed to.

Greg
