[H-GEN] GNU Social

Hi Guys,

Sorry if this is a double post but I think I sent using the wrong email :s

Whilst I was bored at work I came across a post on Hacker News about this project called GNU social which really intrigued me[1][2]

It's basically Twitter with a federated design, so my server can talk to the hundreds of other servers world wide and it also provides quite good redundancy.

I am still wrapping my head around how it all works and I have had to add a hack to php scripts to get some functionality as run on php 7 not 5.6 so I am not promising that my server won't just randomly stop working because of this. I will also lock it down if to many users on it because the hardware I am running it on is quite modest (it's a hobbyist server)

I think its a great concept though and thought this group might be interested in checking it out.
