[H-GEN] 3D printers

I never would have picked you for a cross dresser Arjen. :-) OK - Maybe it wasn't a freudian slip but a simple typo. Google shows me wombot.com.au is what you probably meant but the cheapest there is $900 vs the $500 Aldi price. Maybe it is worth the extra, but then that's why I asked in the first place. I haven't done anything with 3D printers since 1995 so I am interested in more recent experiences.

Cheers,

Greg

Sigh
Seems like a daft idea, unless you are comfortable acquiring workshop tools from places like Aldi and Kmart....

In the same price range, there is quality Australian gear like wombat.com.au<http://wombat.com.au>
Comes with way more filament, and is a maintainable product rather than a turnkey pile of scrap waiting to happen. And believe me, I see those at for instance schools.

3D pen is a cute idea, provided you're ok running very expensive because of its proprietary refills.

Has anybody had a good look at them? If so how does the Aldi announced printer stack up?

There is also a 3D pen which I guess is for freehand sculpting as well as consumables for the printer.
