[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and ]
[ Unix-related topics. Please observe the list's charter. ]
[ Worthwhile understanding: http://www.humbug.org.au/netiquette.html ]
> Do you know if NetBSD formed the basis for Apple's Mac OSX?
No, the kernel is mach and the network stack is from FreeBSD 3.2.
The sources of Darwin (Mac OSX) are also available for Power PC
and i386. see http://www.darwininfo.org
We actually use FreeBSD in house for servers and all desktops.
There is one linux box and one microsoft box (just in case) and
the rest (about a dozen at last count) are all FreeBSD.
