Well, as I said before it is still beta.

Do any of your docs have embedded macros or features (eg. do your ppt
presentations have embedded excel spreadsheets or msgraphs etc)?

I have found that StarOffice was really good with simple ppt docs but I
suspect might be less forgiving with embedded stuff.
