[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and ]
[ Unix-related topics. Please observe the list's charter. ]
[ Worthwhile understanding: http://www.humbug.org.au/netiquette.html ]

Depending on where in the Gold Coast you are driving from.

There is only one road that takes to Brisbane from the Gold Coast
via the Pacific Motorway (i.e. Highway 1). If you are living below the 2
theme parks (i.e. DreamWorld and MovieWorld), then follow the directions
to the theme parks (DreamWorld or MovieWorld) which will have to take you
to the Pacific Motorway. Once in the Motorway, it about 45minutes drive
up north towards Brisbane. If you do not see "Brisbane xx km", you are
probably on the wrong direction.

Just do not take any exits at all.

The Pacific Motorway swings out just as you enter Brisbane
(approximately 25km from Brisbane CBD), but if you continue driving
forward you want find yourself on the Southeast Freeway, i.e. Motorway 3.

Just do not take any exits at all. Once you have the Brisbane CBD
in your sights (on the Riverside Expessway, you can't miss driving next
to the big Brisbane River on the left and the CBD on your right), I'd
suggest staying on your left lane and follow the traffic. Again, do not
take any exits at all !

Notably, you will come across a Toowong Village (a big blue
shoppng center on your right), you will have approx 1 minute before you
make a left turn just at the Ampol petrol station traffic lights. It
takes you to St Lucia. If you miss that lights, you will drive straight
to a roundabout, which you can also turn right. Both roads drives you to
the University of Queesland.

Assuming you took the first route (best !) via the petrol
station, drive along the road without turning anywhere until you reach a
roundabout (first one !) which has a big University of Queensland sign.

Turn right at the roundabout go straight until you hit a T
junction (Hawken Drive) which you turn left.

Follow the round up to another roundabout, turn right along the
big university buildings. Follow the road about 400m you will see a
Residence College (can't remember the name ?) after which you see a left
turn to another road behind the university (you should see a big sign
overhead just before you turn).

Follow the road another 300 - 400m, it's the first road that exits
out on the left, follow that road, you will be greeted by a carpark and
the first builing along the road on the left. That's the meeting place,
i.e. Hawken Engineering Building.
