GIMP is quite OK for simple graphics too. It's definitely not
PhotoShop, but then most people don't need PhotoShop, either.

Star Office 6.0. Well, they have removed the desktop and browser (YAY)
and the email/news client and the scheduler/PIM (BOO). Impress is so
unfriendly to use, I'll be sticking to PowerPoint. :-( The text editor
still craps out a lot of things in a Word document, but it is better
than 5.2 so far. All up, I don't think that SO6 will be the MS Office
beater I was hoping it to be - they have removed some *excellent*
functionality from SO52, and some the I personally disliked. They
*should have* included the desktop/browser as an option, tho.
As for the not running as other than root issue, in SO52 I had to
install it with the "/net" option when installing to get it to run in
"multiuser" mode. I have not tried running SO6 under Linux yet, but I'd
guess that this should fix this for you.
Regards,
Hilton
