I'm merely pointing out the "slow" system you used was some time ago(5
years?). Along with Wheezy, and the new 3.X kernel, its a whole
different kettle of fish. I'd suggest still giving it ago again and see
what you think. :-)

I still run an old debian patato install for a legacy billing platform
on zope which is painfully slow...
