Shouldn't all external drives work?  Or is this sadly not the case?

I have had problems with Western Digital and Toshiba drives reserving hidden 
partitions for their Windows backup or security software, and not giving you 
the full 1TB you expected.  Not sure if any extras (e.g. bluetooth/WiFi/infra-
red) aside from actual data storage might have compatibility problems.
