Hi Russell, all

My company and various other organisations (OSDC, Upstarta, BlueHackers) take online credit card payments through PayPal. This eats 2.4% plus a few more cents per transaction, and we simply eat that cost as it provides convenience to clients/donors at a cost lower than other services provide for low volumes.

To use the service, the person does not have to sign up for PayPal, although some personal details do need to be filled in as part of the credit card validation process.

You can also set up a subscription system where a fee is periodically charged until cancelled.
