AFAIK the usual way to deal with proposed changes by candidates is
to let them give a brief spiel on their ideas before they're elected,
then let interested people discuss it further after the election (and
meeting for that matter) is over. If people think it's a bad idea and
want to argue for another approach beforehand, then they need to be a
candidate too and offer an alternative spiel.

There's been plenty of opportunity for discussion on the list or at
earlier meetings...
If, after the spiel and election, a motion to block the newly elected
people from following their platform gets moved and somehow accepted,
the newly elected folks can always immediately resign. That all just
seems a bit unlikely to me though.
Honestly, this all sounds overly confrontational for what's not much
more than a fortnightly get together of a few dozen folks who happen to
be interested in Unix though. Can't we all just, you know, get along?

Any actions that shorten the AGM get my support, fwiw.
