Make that a definite YES PLEASE. :-) Also is there any information/advice that you can provide. Things like balanced vs unbalanced audio feeds. Well just about anything?

We have a semi-professional Sony HD video camera (I think its a HD FX 1) lying around gathering dust at the moment, as well as a semi-pro Miller tripod. I don't want to commit to anything just yet as I need to check with the other guys but I suspect we might be able to loan these to HUMBUG for your video work if that is of any help to you.

If this might be of interest let me know and I'll check at our end and see if the other guys are happy for a loaner.

As stated in the lca minutes these are my duties
Matthew Franklin
1. Prepare written summarises of quotes for the two ways of doing the A/V: Renting and Purchasing.
Due: 2009-06-27.
2. Work with Shaun to review what A/V facilities are available at QUT, and what the cost of hiring them would be.
Due: 2009-06-27.

1st thing I would like people to understand. Talk about getting quotes for AV equipment is not to purchase the items now but to get a reasonable idea of the costs involved so that the lca team can make a good assessment of what the AV will cost (both renting and buying) in the future (we will factor in price rises etc) and then use that figure in or bid budget. As you can see in the lca website I have already got quotes from AV hire places. The most likely one is around the $10,000 mark however I am looking at all options. No choice has been made yet nor will it be made by me alone. That's a job for the whole lca team.

If we, that is the lca team does win the bid and purchase camera's for it they will be owned by LA and not by HUMBUG. We then talk to LA about what to do with those camera's after LCA but that will be done with the complete knowledge of all parties. At this point I'm doing what I've been told to do and throughly check out the options that we as the lca bid team have open to us.
