Following up to myself.

I suppose you are suggesting I have spoken about you in IRC "behind your 
back".

I decided to look back over my IRC logs.  I grepped all my IRC logs 
including private messages.  Turns out I have never even _said_ the name 
Res in IRC.

Someone on channel identified your IRC nick. I saw this in the logs as I 
was asleep while all this was occuring. I grepped all my IRC logs 
including private messages and I have never spoken about you using your 
nick either.

I have spoken _to you_ on IRC.  I've replaced your nick by **** for your 
privacy.

Your accusation that I have "spoken behind your back" is baseless and I am 
deeply insulted by it.
