I understand, but the law details - in effect - the lowest common denominator of
situations. At least in my view, there should be a difference between what is
acceptable in a locker room vs what is acceptable in a gathering of technical
professionals - even if both sets of behaviour are completely legal.

As far as I'm aware, it is completely legal to display hard core pornography in
a general purpose area where only adults are gathered (assuming no copyright
violations and no objections by the people providing to room to you). This is
taken advantage of by hens and bucks parties in pubs all over the place (to
varying degrees). I would hope that you would feel that this kind of behaviour
- while legal - is completely unacceptable at a meeting of technical
professionals and hobbyists.

The presence of minors (thus making some behaviour illegal or of dubious
legality) should not be the only factor in deciding whether or not some
behaviour is acceptable. There must be a group consensus that certain
behaviours - while possibly not "offensive" to the majority - are not acceptable
nonetheless.

At the very least, it would be wise to focus on encouraging behaviours that grow
inclusiveness and discourage behaviour that doesn't.

All the best,

	Jacinta
