I did get a lecturer to come along to one meeting. He came
along to look at David Seikel's effort on getting Yellow Dog
running on the PS3.
He only came that once though. I suspect you need more than
social chit-chat and playing with hardware to keep a person
like that interested. Regular talks would help. I guess the
alternative would be to find one that had a hobby project
outside of his normal academia pursuits he would enjoy
sharing with the club.
The real point I wanted to make is finding these people is
hard when you haven't been a student for 20 years. The only
lecturer who is still at UQ that I know personally now runs
the place. We need new members from the student population.
