[H-GEN] New Debian Stable Release

Hi all,
My routine security update this morning descended into a bit of an
issue as aptitude wanted to update a huge number of packages and wound
up with unresolvable conflicts. Apparently Debian released an update
on Valentine's day that I wasn't aware of...

For now, I've switched my sources list from "stable" to "etch" and
gotten the sane list of security updates I was expecting, but it looks
like I need to plan an upgrade cycle soon. The release notes at http://debian.org/releases/stable/i386/release-notes/
seem to be fairly generic upgrade advice which I will study more
carefully etc before upgrading etc.

The point of this email though is to see if any of our local Debian
experts are aware of and can give me pointers on the dependency
problems I initially ran into. Aptitude reported:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   libsasl2: Depends: libsasl2-2 (= 2.1.22.dfsg1-8) but
2.1.22.dfsg1-23 is to be installed.
   libperl5.8: Depends: perl-base (= 5.8.8-11.1+lenny1) but 5.10.0-19
is to be installed.
   libcurl3-openssl-dev: Depends: libcurl3 (= 7.15.5-1etch1) but
7.18.2-8 is to be installed.

(Yes, I did run aptitude dist-upgrade instead of just aptitude upgrade).

Cheers,

Adrian Sutton
