Same with genetic modification of stuff, inclusion of nanotechnology
in foods and products, and so on.
I like technology, but I understand enough of it to be seriously
worried about all that.
Not sure I like the micro-blackhole either... conceptually yes, made
on planet earth no.

Yep.
The RepRap can be easily replicated, and it can manufacture some of
its own parts.
No self-replication at all. And not even complete self-fabrication.
But that's not the objective of it.

I agree. But I do think it's important to not let this debate attach
itself to the RepRap, as that could seriously hinder the good it will
otherwise be able to do.
